Alginate

Alginate, what is that? A cellulose fiber. Innovatively and sustainably made from organic seaweed from the Icelandic fjords. The fiber is also known under the brand name SeaCell™. This environmentally friendly raw material has been awarded the EU Ecolabel and the Green Leaf and also complies with Oeko-Tex Standard 100.

Only the upper parts of the algae are harvested for the manufacturing process, this ensures that the algae can always grow back. After drying they are chopped up, then processed into cellulose fibers and spun.
